So far I have lost 7.4 pounds. My scale at home shows more of a lost, so I'm excited.
NEWS:
- pants that did not fit before now fit too big
- I love squash in a steamer
- I need to make soup :)
Weight watchers is fantastic! Anybody who wants to lose weight and keep it off should try it. I'm a bit scared to go to the meeting Saturday. I overate yesterday and today. My weight varies on the scale at home, but hopefully it will show an improvement Saturday when I go.
There is one thing I havent done that I need to: Exercise.
I tried a few meeting times and found one that I like. The one I first went to had a woman who lost 20 pounds. She was so skinny its hard for me to think she would understand what it is like to be so overweight. Plus she was perky annoying. If you see somebody weighs more than 250 pounds, what makes you think they want to climb stairs?
The new meeting time has a woman who lost 70 pounds and shes more realistic. She wants overweight weight watcher members to walk for a few minutes everyday. DUH! Much better....

Week 1 Results!
Week one of Weight Watchers flew by.
Things I learned:
- Do not schedule meals. You are hungry when you are hungry. So eat! I ate at different times this week just when I was hungry and was able to keep the points down.
- Fruits and vegetables won't fill you up but they are your how to get by friends. When you are hungry, and are waiting for the food to finish, theres nothing better than taking a bite out of an apple or nibbling on a carrot. It keeps your points at 0 while keeping your stomach from growling.
- The combination of fat/carb/protein/fiber is more important than calories. There were some tortillas I was using that had low calories but high weight watcher points (7 for two). I found another one that had more calories but less carbs and the result was 3 WW points and I was full a lot longer.
Things I failed at:
- Exercising. This week was so tiring. I didnt exercise during the week. Now, on the weekend I have back pain and won't go. Hopefully a trip to Massage Envy will fix my back and I can start exercising when I get off of work. I was thinking climbing the stairs when I'm leaving work will do the trick. The car ride (45 min to 1 hour) is way too long and I dont get home til 9.
Things I worry about:
- Going out to eat. I realized that the food doesn't taste as good as to waste all my WW points on them. I'm going to start cooking more exotic meals at home on the weekend, but I just hope I dont turn into a Hermit crab!
For next week: I really hope I will be able to register more than 4 WW exercise points. I'll look on their Etools for some to do at home.
Results: - 4 pounds

Starting with Weight Watchers
First of all, I just wanted to say that I am not one of those cheesy people with a New Year's Resolution they will give up in March. Why, you ask? Because I have a plan! I just got tired of being me. As anybody who is obese can tell you, it is not a lot of fun being this way. In 2010, I lost 40 pounds and in 2011 I gained it back. Although it may seem like an epic fail, at least I was right back where I started instead of being further behind. And I learned a lot of things along the way.
The first phases of my plan were set in motion in November:
- NEVER be on a diet. If I always eat a salad, I think I would die.
- THINK about a craving. Is that really what I want? Maybe not. If it is, then eat it without feeling guilty. First limit: Give in to one craving a day on the weekends.
- FREEDOM from the foods that cripple me. Cant eat just one? Dont eat it at all! I have given up chocolate and soda because well I am an addict. Although one should not give up the things they like, eating 3 chocolate bars at a time lets you know its time to detox.
Doing these three phases netted me a weight lost of 20 pounds :) in about two months.
Phase two: Joining weight watchers. No I am not Jennifer Hudson. I am not Charles Barkley. But I did want a plan that would help me reach my goal without getting in the way. Have you seen the choice plans for Nutrisystem and Jenny for vegetarians? I rather eat a shoe.
So Weight Watchers it is. I am going to the meetings on Saturdays. I prepaid 10 weeks so it can literally hurt me when I dont go.
Also, I joined the etools. Weight Watchers gives a free 2 month trial.
And I downloaded it on my phone. I also have the calculator but I think I rather use the app calculator on my phone.
Today: Day 1. For breakfast I had 1 cup egg beaters with half a smart sausage (smoked flavored) vegetarian. 5 points. I have 38 left. I will let you know tomorrow how it goes!
So far, Weight Watchers has given me a lot of motivation. This does not feel like a diet, but rather a game. And I love to win!
